Senior Library

Zug Campus Senior Library

The Senior Library is a wonderful place to do research or read.

Students in grades 3-5 come to the library at least once each week with their teacher to; borrow and browse new reading materials, be involved in book-talks, or work on completing their library passport.

Information literacy lessons are separate from the Browse and Borrow session and are integrated into the grade-level curriculum, which may include literature or author studies, research for inquiries, or using information skills to collaborate, create, research, or present information. Lessons may be taught either by the homeroom teacher, librarian or both together. Lessons are flexibly scheduled to be authentic with the classroom inquiries and may take place in the library teaching classroom which is equipped with a SMART Board and easy access to the printed materials and library computers, or the lesson may take place in the homeroom classroom using the grade level laptops.

The Senior Library contains a collection of over 25,000 books; fiction (picture books, series, chapter books, and graphic novels), non-fiction, reference, teacher and parent reference and international books in many languages including German. It also has a selection of magazines, newspapers, audio books and Playaways.

Borrowing Information

Holds
Students and parents may request a hold on checked out materials. This can be done by the student/family logging into Destiny and placing a hold in Destiny Quest for the needed material OR by asking the librarian at the circulation desk to assist with placing a hold. When the materials are available these will placed on the holds shelf and notification is done through student/family Destiny account.
